Christmas Party:  The school Christmas party will be on Tuesday December 19th, 2017 at 12.30 to 2pm.  This is one of the most anticipated days of the whole school year.   We would like to thank the Parents Association for organising this great event.  The party will finish at 2pm for all the children of the school, all classes will go home at 2pm on this day.

Nativity Play (Junior/Senior Infants):  The Nativity play for Junior and Senior infants will take place on Wednesday December 20th, 2017 at 1.15pm.  Please ensure that the children are practicing their lines at home.  Children will need a costume for their part but please do not go to any expense.  Tea towels, dressing gowns and old sheets make great costumes.  Parents/guardians, grandparents and family of the Junior and Senior infants are all invited to the play.

Bric-a-Brac:  The Bric-a-Brac sale will be organised by the children of 5th and 6th classes approximately (following the Nativity Play) on Wednesday December 20th, 2017.  The children are looking for donations of old toys, teddy bears, bric-a-brac, books etc. all in good condition.  There will be various stalls on the day e.g name the teddy bear, sweets in a jar etc.  There will be a small raffle on the day and tickets will be on sale only in the hall on the day of the jumble sale.  All the items can be dropped into the school on the week beginning Monday 11th December 2017.

Funky Kids:  The Parents Association of Gusserane National School are organising the Funky Kids Drama club to return to Gusserane NS over a period of 10 weeks to give a series of drama workshops to the children of all classes.

The drama workshops will take place in school during school time once a week for ten weeks starting on Friday January 12th, 2018.  The workshops will then be followed by a show to be performed by the children of Gusserane NS.

The teachers will facilitate the workshops as part of the music and drama elements of the school curriculum each week.

The cost of the workshops will be subsidised by the Parents Association and therefore the cost will be €3 per child per week (Normally €7).  You may pay the €3 each week or if you chose you may pay the full amount of €30 any time before the Easter Holidays.

The Funky Kids Club has worked with the children of Gusserane NS on three previous shows.  The experience proved to be very worthwhile and enjoyable for all.

Christmas Holidays:  The school will close Friday, December 22nd at 12 noon for the Christmas Holidays.
