We would like to welcome everybody back after the Easter Holidays.  We hope you all had and enjoyable break.

 

Soccer Blitz:  Gusserane NS will be taking part in the FAI schools soccer blitz in New Ross on Thursday April 12th, 2018.  Two teams from Gusserane NS will be playing, one girls team and one boys team.  All pupils from 5th and 6th class will be going to the blitz.  The bus will cost €6 per student.  The bus will leave at 9.30am and will be back at school before 3pm.

 

SwimmingThe pupils from 3rd to 6th class will be going swimming every Friday from April 27th, 2018 to May 18th, 2018 and then again from June 1st, 2018 to June 8th, 2018 (six weeks).  The Parents Association are subsidizing the cost of these lessons.  The cost per child is €30 for the six sessions which includes pool hire, instructors fee and bus.  The bus will depart the school at 12.30pm and return to the school for 2.30pm.  Two teachers will accompany the children.  Each child will need to bring swimming togs, towel, hat, and goggles if desired. Lockers are provided, and you need a €1 coin or token to lock the lockers.  Children will be shown the importance of swimming as a physical activity for keeping fit and they will also be shown the importance of water safety.  The money for the swimming lessons can be brought in as soon as possible.

 

Active Schools Week: Active School Week will start on Monday April 23rd and will continue until Friday April 27th, 2018.  For Active School Week, we would encourage all pupils to wear their tracksuit and runners for the full week.

 

School Closures:  The school will be closed on the following days.

Date for your Diary:  The official opening of the new classroom extension will take place on Wednesday, May 30th by Bishop Denis Brennan.  More details of this day will follow.
