Spelling Bee: Congratulations to Ava Leacy (6th Class) on being selected to represent the school in the Eason’s Spelling Bee Competition on Wednesday the 20th of March in Marshalstown N.S, Marshalstown, Enniscorthy, Wexford at 11am. Ava beat off stiff competition for the selection and we wish her every success.
Soccer Blitz: Gusserane NS will be taking part in the FAI schools soccer blitz in New Ross on Wednesday the 27th of March. Two teams from Gusserane NS will be playing, one girls’ team and one boys’ team. The bus will leave at 9.30am and will be back at school before 3pm.
School Closures: The school will close on the following dates
Friday the 15th of March (Holiday)
Monday the 19th of March for Bank Holiday (St. Patricks Day)
The school will close at 12pm on Friday the 12th of April for the Easter Holidays and will reopen on Monday the 29th of April at 9.20am.
Parking: As always, we would ask parents when dropping and collecting children, to and from school to please be mindful of parking and should you have to park across the road from the school please cross the road with your child and to collect your child. We have also been made aware of problems with parking at the entrance to O’Rahilly View and so we would ask parents that park on that side of the school to please make sure not to park or block the entrance to the estate as residents could be entering or leaving at collections times.
Daffodil Day: On Friday the 22nd of March, there will be a Coffee Morning (9am – 1pm) in the hall in Gusserane, everybody is welcome to attend and if anyone would like to bake, pick, or sell daffodils in Wallace’s, Wellingtonbridge on the day for the Irish Cancer Society we would be delighted, you can contact Margaret on 087 1331779. If you have spare flowers you can bring them in to school on Thursday Morning the 21st of March, they will be sold on Friday. This is very worthy cause indeed.
