Gusserane National School is a co-educational, Catholic, Primary school where the board of management strive to provide a well ordered, caring, happy, safe, and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.
Whilst we recognise the importance of giving to each pupil the basic skill of Literacy, Numeracy, and Oral communication, consistent with his/her ability, we place emphasis not only on academic achievement, but also on facilitating each child to grow in self-worth, through experiencing success in as many aspects as possible of the total curriculum.
Gusserane N.S. endeavours to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community to imbue in the pupil’s respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of responsibility and a social conscience.
Gusserane National School strives to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development and wellbeing of all the staff through staff developments programmes and days. Parental involvement is encouraged through home/school contacts and through involvement in the parents Association.
We recognise the importance of education for leisure, and so ,both within and outside the classroom, numerous opportunities are provided for pupils to develop their personal interests and discover their individual talents.
