Welcome to Gusserane National School

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to Gusserane National School’s Website. Whether you are an established family, a new parent, or a passing visitor, I hope that you will find something of interest within our school website. The aim of the website is to give you information about the school, the curriculum, and the activities we have on offer. This website highlights the many learning experiences which children enjoy at our school and gives them a wider audience for their wonderful work.

We in Gusserane National School seek to cherish and challenge children in a safe, secure, and attractive learning environment. We have a highly-committed staff, who give their best to enable our children to achieve their full potential in work, play, and spiritual development. We are lucky to have a dedicated and supportive Board of Management and Parents Association in our school that contributes to the happy atmosphere of the school.

Le dea-ghuí,

Adeline Foxe – Principal

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to fund necessary resources to support numeracy, problem solving and computational thinking such as the purchase of additional tablets which support curriculum delivery amongst all subjects within the curriculum. These devices are also supporting students who may not have consistent access to digital tools at home, ensuring they can fully participate in learning both inside and outside the classroom. The funding was also used to boost our  STEM resources for all classes across the school through the purchase of lego and hands on games and activities for both indoor and outdoor use. This funding has had a very positive effect on our pupils and to the resources available to our teachers to support teaching and learning within the school. We are committed to using this funding to create more equitable learning opportunities for all our students.
