The Infants learned all about Springtime during the month of March. The Infants were busy in The Garden Centre during playtime and they enjoyed using construction materials to build their own Garden Centers. The Infants were able to take home some flowers they had grown in school.
We had a pyjama day on Friday 1st March for Cineáltas Week. The children enjoyed some popcorn and juice and relaxed in the afternoon. We were also very busy with lots of other events during March. Engineers Week took place from 4th– 7th March. Ms. Boyle’s fifth and sixth class worked with the Infants for stations. The Infants loved all of the different activities shown to them!
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday, 7th March. The children were able to wear their comfy clothes to school and read books throughout the day, The third and fourth class paid us a visit and read some library books to the Infants. We also made some bookmarks and designed our own book covers.
We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge in March too. Ms. Kiernan’s Irish committee are busy teaching the classes new phrases each week and we were using lots of Irish each day. We also had a whole school Ceilí where the teachers taught the pupils some Irish Dancing.
On Thursday 14th March we celebrated VIP Day in school. The Infants sang the song ‘Count on Me’ over in Gusserane Hall and did a super job. They had the chance to meet their VIP after the performance was over. We really enjoyed singing for everyone.
We finished our Dance lessons with Ann Marie Cooney this month. The Infants loved their six weeks with Ann Marie and they all did a great job taking part in lessons. We also started our Active Flag run around Europe challenge this month. We were running two or three laps around the court everyday!
We enjoyed having Ms. Molloy teach us up to the Easter Holidays. We finished up with an Easter Egg Hunt on the day of our holidays. We were delighted to get a nice Easter Egg to bring home!
