October 2024

Maths Week took places from the 14th-18th October. During this week, we took part in maths stations with the 5th and 6th class, did maths challenges and participated in a quiz with Junior and Senior Infants. Everyone really enjoyed the week!

One of our favourite activities in art this month was creating clay pumpkins. Children in 1st and 2nd Class shaped the clay and added faces and a stem. We were all very impatient when we had to wait for them to dry! Then, we painted them and added some finishing touches.

In Science, we learned all about the planets and learned a very clever acronym to remember the order of the planets from the sun- ‘My Very Excellent Monkey Just Served Unicorn Noodles’. We worked in groups to make a project on each of the planets.

Of course, we had to end the month with our Hallowe’en Catwalk! We all dressed up and showcased our fabulous costumes, as well as playing some Hallowe’en games and enjoying a disco!
