November/ December 2022
5th and 6th class were extremely busy during November and December. The highlight of the month of November was undoubtedly the performance in Sing Out Loud in Wexford Opera House. The class performed excellently alongside 3rd and 4th class. Gusserane N.S. has massive support in the audience and the classes sang excellently.
Gymnastics with Tommy is always a hit in school and this year was no exception, the children thoroughly enjoyed learning gymnastics skills and balances.
We continued our study of the novel Holes, with the class eager to find out the ending when they return after the Christmas holidays.
The sound of the ukulele could be heard through the 5th and 6th class corridor. The pupils are progressing very well with the chords and chord changes. We will continue to practice in 2023.
The run up to Christmas was extremely busy for 5th and 6th class. On the request of the 6th class we agreed to allow each class perform a Christmas play that would be recorded and sent to parents to view. There was great excitement around this recording and all pupils put in an enormous effort. The 5th and 6th class show was entitled “Reindeer Rebellion”. The class carried out their roles brilliantly and great enjoyment was had by all.
The school held it’s very first Christmas Carol Service this year. 5th and 6th class had important roles to play during the production of the Story of Christmas. The class took on their roles excellently and provided some lovely singing to accompany their portrayal of the story of Christmas.
Well done to all in 5th and 6th class.
